The Wagner Gallery gives a platform to artists that have critical and catalytic perspectives on the issues confronting society that we seek to address. The gallery presents two exhibitions per year, one featuring the Greater Boston artists awarded the annual Wagner Arts Fellowship and the other featuring group exhibitions of local, national and international artists organized by grantee partners, guest curators, and Wagner Foundation’s Program Officer and Curator of Art & Culture, Abigail Satinsky. Through highlighting the vibrancy of our local creative community and partnering with our network of grantees, our vision is to create a convening space of dialogue, creativity, and deepening impact through relationship-building.
The Wagner Gallery actively travels the exhibitions, creates programmatic partnerships, and facilitates public art and engagement that brings the exhibition program outside of the foundation offices. We do this to create partnerships that broaden the reach of the artists we work with, to create community dialogue and exchange, and to support and facilitate more cultural access overall.
Our gallery provides a unique opportunity to listen to artists, which is central to our process. It allows for the exchange of ideas between artists and our foundation partners across various fields, creating a space for meaningful dialogue. We know that when we trust and support their visions, artists can make a significant impact on the world around them.
